Instructor Rules
Thank you for your interest in becoming a tutor at Risingbell Tutors. We are committed to providing high-quality online tutoring services to students across the world. We expect all our tutors to adhere to the following policies:
- Qualifications: Tutors must have qualifications either in IELTS, TOEFL, or be on track to getting a bachelor's degree or higher in the subject area they will be tutoring.
- Diction Test: Tutors must go through the Diction Test that guarantees good spoken English.
- Communication Skills: Tutors must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate with students, guardians, and program management effectively. Tutors should be able to provide clear and detailed feedback on assignments, and assessments.
- Teaching/Tutoring Experience: Tutors must have prior teaching or tutoring experience, online or distance learning setting is preferred.
- Tutoring Application: Tutors must accurately complete their tutoring application
- Assessment & Subject Matter Expertise: Tutors must complete a comprehensive assessment in their area of expertise, and achieve a score of at least 90%. Tutors should also have a strong knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and curriculum.
- Technological Proficiency: Tutors must have the ability to use technology and online platforms for teaching and communication.
- Punctuality, Availability, and Responsiveness: Tutors must be punctual to tutoring sessions, and responsive to student inquiries. Tutors must always come to their sessions prepared and with a stable internet connection. Tutors must be available to teach at least 5 hours per week,
- Cancellation Policy: Tutors must provide at least a 24-hour notice to the students and management if they need to cancel a tutoring session. Failure to do so may result in a pay deduction. Continuous violation may result in further punitive actions.
- Teaching Methods & Participation: Tutors must have a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Tutors should encourage student participation and engagement. Tutors should be flexible and willing to adapt to student needs.
- Tutors should prioritize helping students arrive at the solution instead of providing them with answers.
- Tutors should possess the patience and ability to work with students of varying abilities and learning styles.
- Tutors must be able to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Educational Materials: Tutors should have a variety of educational materials and resources, such as videos and interactive activities.
- Professional Conduct: Tutors must comport themselves professionally, maintain appropriate boundaries with students and avoid any form of intimacy, discrimination, or harassment.
- Confidentiality: Tutors should keep student information confidential and secure.
- Progress Reports: Tutors should keep records of students' progress and provide regular updates to guardians and the Risingbell management. Tutors should provide a session evaluation at the end of each tutoring session.
- Performance Reviews: Tutors will undergo regular performance reviews to ensure that they are meeting the expectations of the students and the platform
- Payment: Tutors should not accept any form of payment from students, and all payments are to be directed through the Rising tutoring platform. Tutors will be compensated based on the number of hours worked.
- Continuing Education: Tutors are encouraged to pursue continuing education opportunities to improve their skills and stay up-to-date with the latest teaching techniques and technology.
